The past week or so has been absolutely gorgeous around here.
It has been the perfect welcome to Spring party!
I have to admit, Spring finds me completely in love with our backyard.
Pink, pink and more pink!
The crows nest is completely surrounded by blooms.
The Dogwoods, not to be out done, have put on quite a display!
My perfect spot to relax.
I just love Azaleas!
Even the Camellia is hanging on and still sharing some blooms.
Spring!
No self respecting South Carolina home can be without at least a touch
of our State Flower, Yellow Jessamine (pronounced "JES-uh-min").
I stopped at the end of my street to snap this picture
because the Wisteria is just lovely this year!
These Azaleas are blooming at a park not too far from my house.
If you have never had the chance to meet an Azalea up close and personal you have missed out!
So beautiful! There is no more beautiful spot in the world that springtime in the southern USA.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love it! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...I miss the South when I see these pictures. We have azaleas here in Oklahoma only with a lot of care and they don't get very big in our part of the state. I do have a few small ones..but your yard is stunning! I miss those big azaleas in my grandmas yard in Florida..they were so big we could hide in them when we were little. Thanks for sharing this beautiful post !

Love the pictures- your yard is beautiful and it reminds me of what my grandma's used to look like when I was growing up :). Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteBut come to see Norway in April and May! Or even better: Stay here for a winter and experience the transformation! :-)
Still your garden is beautiful. Fantastic. The spring is lovely. A famous Norwegian poet in the 19th century wrote a poem about the spring, and I have translated it. You may enjoy it:
I GIVE MY POEM TO THE SPRING
A translation of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's
"Jeg giver mitt dikt til våren"
I give my poem to the spring,
though for the power yet to bring;
I give my poem to the spring
as zeal for eagerness to act.
The two of them shall make a pact:
To fascinate the love to win
so that the winter must give in
and let a wealth of brooks appear
to make Him wild, God in the air,
encouraged to no longer dwell
but to approve the flower smell!
I give my poem to the spring!
Stunning! Wow- so jealous of all the pretty colors you have already!!

Oh how gorgeous!!! I started a new series today called "Meet me in the garden." I hope you'll join us with some of your gardening tips :)
ReplyDeleteSpring finds me completely in love with your backyard, too! LOL! It's beautiful. Even though Spring is my favorite season here in Vegas and it's beautiful in its own right, we don't get the same washes of color and, mostly, we don't have all the green grass. It's a chore to maintain and you never think you'll miss it, but you do. In my case the grass really IS greener on the other side LOL! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteSo very pretty - spring in the south!

Such beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the second picture with the crept myrtle in the foreground and then the fourth with your Dogwood. I would sit out there every day.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is lovely! I can only imagine how pretty it must be in person. Enjoy every second of this pretty season.
ReplyDeleteThere is not a more beautiful place on earth than Dixie in the Springtime. Your yard is gorgeous! I can't ever get enough of azaleas this time of year :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Michelle, your backyard (& neighborhood) are beautiful. We had Azaleas & Dogwoods in Oregon, but not here in the desert. Wisteria does grow here & it's on my list of "wants" for our backyard. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos.
