Sunday in Savannah

For DD's recent birthday we spent the day in Savannah...
We started here, at Paula Deen's Lady & Sons.
This is the crowd waiting to be seated for Sunday lunch.
Fortunately for us we didn't have to wait very long.
It wasn't our first visit, but the food was much better than our previous time (which was good...but something about this time was even better.)  If you are ever in Savannah it is worth a stop!
Some how my oldest is getting very close to being my smallest!
The birthday girl with her baby brother.
It has been interesting to watch how much the boys
miss their big sister now that she is away at school.
My youngest DS is a huge history buff so a day in Savannah is right up his alley.
We couldn't have asked for better weather for strolling the Riverfront.
I had to leave you with a picture of the infamous Mercer House, especially since my book club just finished reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.  We also watched the movie at our last meeting  - complete with popcorn and lots of candies.

  2. I would love to go to Savannah. On our recent drive to Florida I mentioned that as we drove past all the Savannah exits along the interstate. Hoping to get there one day :)
Loved seeing your pictures. Looks like a beautiful city and I bet you had a great time!

  3. I'm glad to hear that the wait at Lady & Sons wasn't bad. Seriously I never have tried to go there because everytime I drive by the line is so long I just won't do it.

Midnight In The Garden of Good & Evil!! The movie! Oh my. I have watched it several times. But, talk about changing the book. LOL! Still, an interesting story though. Especially when you know that it's true. I'm sure you know that Chablis in the movie is the real Chablis. And, the judge in the movie is actually the real attorney for Jim Williams. Just a little trivia. But, Kevin Spacey was excellent, as he always is.

  6. LOVE Savannah! I grew up only an hour away, so I practically feel like I am from there.

Next time you go, try the Chart House! It's my fave.

  7. I sooo want to visit Savannah! Looks like you guys had a ball and toured some great locales. I read "Midnight" a few years ago and loved it. The film was fun, too (early Jude Law - gotta love it!)

  10. What a great trip! We've had two great SAV trips in the last two months, too. :-) I need to check it back out & finish "Midnight..." - I made it halfway through before our first trip and never got to finish it! (You know I'm not the most reliable reader. :-P)

  11. Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter! It looks like you had a wonderful family day together. Savannah is definitely a place that I'd like to visit, particularly Mercer House since I loved MinGoG&E. Now I want to reread it!

  12. I absolutely LOVE Savannah and just recently visited there with my daughter when she came to visit me here in Atlanta. We were also able to eat at Lady and Sons restaurant while we were there. I was very impressed with the service and the food was delish! Savannah is such a fun place to walk around- I LOVE all of the beautiful houses and would someday like to do some house tours there.
Beautiful pistures - thanks for sharing them!
    Blessings,
    Kymber

  13. It's just crazy how absence really does make the heart grow fonder. My sisters and I fought like mortal enemies until I moved to college and now we're all three best friends. I makes life a lot better!

Your daughter is just gorgeous! Looks like college is agreeing with her!
