Do you have a favorite season? A season where you feel all is right with the world and your past, present and future seem rolled up into one glorious gift?
Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.
~George Eliot
I am SO EXCITED to *not dread* Fall for the first time, again, in 5 years! It was always my fave growing up - pumpkins & football! - but up north, it just heralded grey frost, snow suits, and freezingness. YAY FOR SOUTHERN FALL!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle, Happy Fall to you as well!! It is such a wonderful time of year and this weather we're having is so appropriate!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick a favorite season, they're all so wonderful and I am SO thankful to live in a place where each is so evident.....I think Spring is still my fav, but oh how I LOVE Fall!!! Enjoy!!!
Oh how I love Fall!!! Have a fabulous day honey! Kori xoox
ReplyDeleteLove Fall! I am so ready for cooler weather! That break from the heat and humidity last week was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love fall as well...always feel ready to go with the start of school with a sharp brain that hasnt just been doing nothing all summer!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on this subject. It is my favorite season, and everything about it makes me happy. Of course, this year is even better because we are close to our children and grandchildren. We have lots of get togethers and family activities to look forward to. We are, however, waiting to for our weather to drop below 100 so we can consider wearing something besides shorts and tanks....lol!
ReplyDeleteI just saw your gumbo recipe, which sounds delish. Would you believe this Southern girl has never made gumbo? I only remember having it once or twice when I was growing up, and those memories are not good! Your recipe sounds very good. One question -- what is the difference between regular long-grain rice and converted rice or are they the same? Thanks a bunch & have a great weekend!
:) CAS
I think spring has to be my favorite time of the year with fall coming in as a close second. Carla
ReplyDeleteI agree with your entire first paragraph. There's something reinvigorating about the Fall. Crisp weather, an end to deathly southern humidity, jewel-toned colors, football!, and a beginning to the Holiday season. What's not to love?
ReplyDeleteAlso, that George Eliot quote is superb. I need to write that down. How beautiful!
Happy Fall Michelle :)
You KNOW I love fall, too...so many fun things about fall. It has been so, so hot this summer, that I can hardly wait for actual chilly days!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
My favorite season is summer, probably because I am not working then. I like fall but I never seem to enjoy it as much as I should. I am looking forward to the leaves changing and a few nice drives in the mountains to enjoy the color.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more--now I'm just waiting for our weather here to adjust!
