Late last night, my daughter and I heard about the Grand Opening of the
Myrtle Beach SkyWheel and how the first 100 people in line were going to be given the inaugural ride free! So, we decided we were going to kick off Summer 2011 by trying to snag a couple of free seats!
I mean, how could we not? This is one
big ferris wheel! It is actually the largest east of the Mississippi and climbs 200 feet about sea level right on Myrtle Beach at the
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade. Unfortunately, we didn't get a free ticket; we were #106!!!! So close...but we rode anyway.
Yep, it is a big one!
She was smiling but she was NOT happy at this point! There were no handles or seat belts!!!
The view from the top was pretty amazing!
Look at those tiny men over there...
Well, we may have not gotten on the inaugural ride but we got to ride it 2nd!
You are good to ride. I'm just plain scared of heights, YIKES!!
ReplyDeleteNo handles?? No seatbelts?? Eeek! I don't think I would have been able to bring myself to ride. I have a fear of heights, especially hanging freely from a seat on a ferris wheel.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Looks like you girls had a nice time :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Our state fair has an amazing ferris wheel also...I just love looking out and taking it all in!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe there are no seatbelts or handles. I don't get to the Boardwalk where that is located very often. That is kind of scary, but I'm sure the view is amazing.
ReplyDeleteHow cute are y'all! The sunshine alone has me sooo jealous!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It would scare me too, but I would love it. How many times does it go around?
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I was getting excited until unread the part about the lack of handrails....can't do it!!
ReplyDeleteAck!!! I'm skeered just looking at it. I'm terrified of heights like that. Don't know how you did it.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend time together Michelle. I don't do many rides but a ferris wheel is one I can handle.
ReplyDeleteNothing securing you in???? No thank you! Glad you enjoyed it though.
ReplyDeleteFun! I would never have known about this if you hadn't posted this. Maybe I'll ride it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the views are amazing! Haven't been to Myrtle in years. Since they closed down the Pavilion, so glad they added something new & fun for families.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day despite the lack of seatbelts, hehe!
