My DH has taken a new job and we will be relocating over the summer, after the children finish up their activities and such. So, to add to all the excitement of DD finishing up her senior year of high school and getting ready to head off to college we are getting ready to head off to a new state!
I say "new" state, but actually it isn't new to us. We will moving back to South Carolina! We lived there for many years in several different towns as DH's job transferred us. We are actually moving back to the town where DD was born (how funny is that?). My oldest DS was also born in SC, and I have family in the Upstate of SC, so this feels like home to us! We loved SC and have often wished we could end up back there. Now we are!!! There are some really big pluses about our new location, one being only an hour from the Beach!!! WhoooHOOOOOO!!!! THAT makes it a winner in our book.
So, I am giving you a heads up...Southern Somedays will probably have a decidedly transitional feel for a while...now where are those boxes?
P.S. I don't know why the spacing on this post looks all wonky....Blogger isn't liking me much today!
How exciting! A whole new house to decorate. :) :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! A big move is always really exciting! Can't wait to hear more about it!
ReplyDeleteHow great to be moving so close to the beach, etc. Sounds stressful but exciting at the same time

Great news, congrats
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to email me where in SC, I'm in Summerville!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time!
Yay for yall! I love SC too! we have some friends who live there and I loved vacationing there as a child! Hope you have a smooth transition!
ReplyDeleteI was doing a bit of blog hopping and found you. We just moved from Michigan to Florida 3 months ago! I still have boxes here and there. It is exciting yet stressful. It sounds like you will be returning to your old stomping grounds, so that helps a LOT ! I had to find a new peds doctor for my son this week...they sure do things a bit differently down here.
ReplyDeleteI am about 45 minutes to the beach, which is very nice. I can hardly wait for warmer weather.
Funny that I have come across your blog this week b/c I was chatting with my daughter about places we might move in the future and SC is one of them! I told her, I don't have any bloggy friends there.
I hope all goes well for you.
Charleston perhaps? Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteYou know Stacy's Streak did not always reach the ends. If you watch the earlier shows, you can see that it developed length over time. Talk to your hair tamer!
So, I'm excited for you...but a tad sad too. I've enjoyed having you close by. We MUST catch up soon. I want to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteHi! Well being a military wife I have had my share of moves and for the most part enjoyed it. Half the battle is accepting it and finding good things about the transition. Looks like you have done that perfectly well. I'm excited for you and your family. Oh yes, the beach an hr. away? Big PLUS! :)
ReplyDeleteDonna Oh, thanks for your visit!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving sweet notes girl! AND how excited am I for you going to SC?? I grew up in Columbia and mama and daddy still live there. I always feel like I am related to everyone when I'm there. Just LOVE Southern hospitality! AND you will be near the beach!?!?! HEAVEN!! Can't wait to hear more!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Lady! Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I am so happy for your family that God has opened the doors for you to go back to where you have wanted to be. Our God is so good, isn't he?! I will pray for you all to have a smooth transition and for everything to continue to fall into place. We truly appreciate your prayers and feel blessed to have people like you lifting us up. Our best friends live in upstate SC and also in Charleston. It is a great place, but Georgia will miss you! Have a blessed day :)
