Holiday Grand Plan...

I have a couple of friends who are organized and together and look forward to Christmas all the year long. In years past I have been really organized and looked forward to Christmas "most of the year long". Last year...not so much. I just couldn't seem to get it together. We didn't do a lot of the things we traditionally do during that season because I wasn't organized enough to pull it off but this year I have a plan.Well, it isn't so much "my" plan but one that a couple of my real holiday spirited friends swear by...THE HOLIDAY GRAND PLAN http://www.holidaygrandplan.com/ .

Daisy over at http://www.daisysdelights.blogspot.com/ and Cathy (the Retail Therapist) over at http://www.cathysoutjunkinagain.blogspot.com/ have both said this was great for years. They are even in the Christmas in July mood on their blogs. Another friend, over at http://honeysuckleandcupcakes.blogspot.com/, is also in the Christmas in July mood so she and a group of friends got together to throw a super fun Christmas in July party. I will probably steal this idea myself next July! Oh, yeah...Sheila over at http://lifeatnumber17.blogspot.com/ is also sprouting some holiday spirit as well.

Anyway, starting August 31, The HGP kicks off with lists and reminders and all kinds of organizational thrills to get us whipped into shape so that when the holidays actually roll around we can enjoy them!
So, YES- my Internet friends, I will be attempting the HGP this year and want to be super organized before the holidays arrive so that I can enjoy every single moment!
P.S. Amy G. mentioned she likes Organized Christmas even better than HGP so here is the link for any of you "get it done early" types http://organizedchristmas.com/ . This site also has some really cute craft and gift ideas. I am just all about the options!!!

  1. Good luck with the HGP! I haven't decided if I'm doing it this year or not, but you know I'm definitely in the Christmas spirit!

    Love your front door!

  2. Oh wow! I tried this one year and was so tired of Christmas by October that I ditched it. I've successfully done the Organized Home Christmas plan more years than not; it starts later and is not as scrub-the-corners intensive. :) I hope the HGP is just right for you!

  5. I am sending the link to everyone I know. I am such a sucker for organization. I have decided that with the new town and the new old house I am going to make all of the holidays over the top. Your post came at the right time. Seriously is that your front door?

  6. FM, yes that is my front door and foyer with magnolia garland (which I didn't have last year because...well, I could manage to find the time to make it...but this year it is BACK, I tell ya!).

  7. My poor pitiful door needs some attention. The door and foyer is fantastic! Sometimes it is so hot in Texas @ Christmas that it sort of looses the inspiration. You have inspired me.

  8. Your Magnolia garland is gorgeous!! Didn't you put dried Crepe Myrtle pods on it? I love how you twisted the gold ribbon through it. When I try to do that it never looks quite right.
