I can’t resist a bit of amateur psychology…here are the 3 magazines on my coffee table (and, yes, I have subscriptions to all 3) ...Southern Living, Victoria and Garden & Gun.
So what do you think it says about me or my family?
That you all are a true southern family. My magazine's are Paula Deen's cooking, Rachel Ray's cooking and Mexican cooking. What does that say about us??
I have never heard of Garden & Gun...but I think the dog on the front is mighty cute :). I'm embarrassed to tell you how many I subscribe to..way to many! I look at them as research for KatyShops.
I hope I'm not posting this twice but the computer didn't seem to take it the first time. Southern Living belongs on EVERY coffee table, but Garden & Gun? My first thoughts were Jeff Foxworthyish -- you might be a redneck ..... if you read Garden & Gun. Then I looked at their website. Don't know how I missed this publication. It looks first-rate. Thanks for mentioning it.
it says we might be related! Add a little Southern Lady and Paula Deen to the pile and we are twins. I must admit I was a little befuddled when I received a gift copy of Garden and Gun in the mail with a card reading...for people like you...I thought what the heck does that mean. But I do enjoy reading it.
You are a true southern belle, my friend! I work in publishing & we are overly obsessed with Garden & Gun. Especially now with their new editor. My question is - who reads G&G in your family? You, husband, or both?
In my "reading basket", I always have the magazine that I work for, Cottage Living, Cooking Light, and various others because again, I'm a little obsessed with magazines in general!
I am the biggest G&G fan...it is truly one of the highlights of my magazine addiction these days...It is just gorgeous (photography and design is wonderful) and has some of the most interesting topics, both Southern inspired and those further removed! LOVE it!!!
I think it says y'all are pretty southern. I just renewed my Southern Living subscription after taking a year off. This is funny, too... I was thinking of doing a "what's on your nightstand" post. Not to be confused with "What's IN your nightstand", 'cause I probably don't want to know and people won't want to tell. hee-hee
Dear Ms Bell-ah, Have you by chance seen the current issue of Martha Stewart?? She has absolutely the most lovely veggies I have ever seen...she must measure each and every plant in it to achieve such perfect semetry. How perfect it is indeed! I am a complete Martha Stewart "want-ta-be! Here's wishing you a beloved spring!
Never heard of Garden and Gun but my first thought was that if someone messed with your garden or flowers then you would shoot them. Now I am going out to find me a copy of Garden and Gun. I truly feel that Southern Living is second only to the Bible. I am thrilled that Victoria is back.
I'm a Garden and Gun-reading gal, too. Very nice magazine. Have you seen Life:Beautiful magazine yet? Discovered it last year, and I'll bet you'd like it.

ReplyDeleteI have no clue what Garden and Gun is. LOLOL
ReplyDeleteMy subscriptions are to the following: InStyle, Self, Vogue, Us Weekly (I know), Good Housekeeping, LHJ, Redbook, and my fave Real Simple.
Craziness - I need a magazine intervention I think.
We love Country Style, Cottage Living and Veranda...
