This is a photo of my DD on her first day of preschool...12 years ago. She was on her way up the side-walk with "Mama Bear" in her arms and her pink back pack strapped on. Funny, she wore pink today to her 1st day of high school...only it was a hot pink polo and khaki burmuda shorts. We prayed on the way to school and I even drove by the school and prayed a little more after my shopping with the boys. It is 2-1/2 hours until I pick her up. I can't wait to hear how the day went. Thanks to all of you who have lifted us up in prayer and sent notes of encouragement.
"I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:8
Such sweet memories! You've raised a beautiful, smart and responsible daughter who knows that she has wonderful parents supporting her every step of the way. She'll do great! Don't worry, God knows what he's doing!
ReplyDeleteOur prayers continue. :)God bless both of you.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for His provision. I think we shall keep you all in our prayers as she continues in high school this year. Christian teens are between a Rock and a hard place, literally. Good thing their Rock is Christ. May He keep her in the palm of His hands as she walks in the midst of the lions. :)
ReplyDeletewhat a precious little smile on her face in that photo! my daughter is the age that yours was in this photo....i know how quickly these years will go by. i know i will be feeling all the emotions you are experiencing when i get there some day! i already get emotional dropping mine off at preschool!! pitiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to worry, even when we know they're in good hands. I'll be praying for both of you as she adjusts to her new environment.
ReplyDeletewhen I read your previous post I wondered if you had pictures...I do of my kids first day of school!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well for her...and you!!
((hugs))
What a cute pic...and I do know how the years fly by!!! It's totally amazing to me. She is indeed rooted and grounded in the right things, so I know she will succeed by the grace of God!! It's also very exciting to see how God will use her there!
ReplyDeleteOh, Belle-ah! What a PRECIOUS picture! I finally made it over to "meet" you after your visits to my blog. Since I am right at the other end of the spectrum and already anticipating what my empty nest will be like I feel oddly kindred. "Train them up in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it." No doubt you did!
ReplyDeleteShe's a beautiful little girl and I'm sure a beautiful young woman. Thanks be to God that she has a relationship with Christ, He will never leave her (even when you do at the front door of high school). Let me know how it goes. I will pray for peace, and remember, God loves her even more than you do!
ReplyDeleteI love barefoot's comments. yes yes yes. Amazing the depth and wealth of God's love. And it's amazing how fast these little ones grow. My daughter isn't even in preschool yet and I'm sitting here thinking "slow down your growin' now!" :)
