There are times when those of us who live in older homes wonder why we do. Maybe we have visited a friend with a lovely new home, complete with the latest floor plan, soaring ceilings, and all the modern amenities, or we have had a particularly trying time with the multi-generational wiring or decades old plumbing, or plaster. We find ourselves sniffing after that "new house" smell and are longing for something that just seems easier (and less expensive, at least where repairs are concerned). It happens. But then, when you least expect it, something happens to remind you of why you chose this place, warts and all.
Yes Ma'am, I took a walk around my backyard this morning and I fully remember why.

What a beautiful backyard!
ReplyDeleteOMG! You've got a gorgeous backyard. I sooo love azaleas (and all flowers in bloom.)
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous. Now, I want to see the house.
ReplyDeleteI'm so coveting your backyard right now. First, it's still pretty cold in my area and second, when we built our home landscaping the backyard wasn't part of the package. I have no trees. What a beautiful yard you have, it's like a park. I'd just get myself a cup of coffee or glass of wine and sit out in that yard and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI know I want to live in your house!!! That yard is amazing. And I want your pool! ;)
ReplyDeleteDrooling over how beautiful your backyard is! I bet you have photographers who ask to take pictures in it. It's gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteAngel

ReplyDeleteWow, Michelle, your backyard is incredible. It looks like a park. You must have "people who have people" to keep that looking so beautiful!

I'm moving in with you. I will just take Piper's room. Your backyard is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't get to see these last year due to when you moved. The husband once again picked the perfect house for you.
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks to be in full bloom...very PRETTY!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
I forgot to tell you how pretty I think your fence is! I love that it has "cut outs" in the brick for a little something different. Your yard is just gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteAren't you happy that your new home has all of these established plants? Your backyard is simply gorgeous! I love all of the color.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!!!! I love your trees! Sigh...Spring time is here!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of the amazing things about older homes is that you have gorgeous "full-grown" trees!!!! Yay!!!
